Lease-A-Dock respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects users to do the same. In accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act of 1998 (DMCA), we will respond promptly to notices of alleged copyright infringement.
Overview
Lease-A-Dock is a platform that allows users to upload photos and content related to dock listings. While we require all users to represent that they own or have the right to use the content they upload, copyright-protected material may occasionally be posted without authorization.
If you believe content on Lease-A-Dock infringes your copyright, you may submit a DMCA takedown notice using the procedure described below. We have registered a designated agent with the U.S. Copyright Office as required by 17 U.S.C. § 512.

Filing a DMCA Takedown Notice
To file a valid DMCA takedown notice, your written communication must include all of the following elements as required by 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3):
- Identification of the copyrighted work: A description of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed, or a representative list if multiple works are covered.
- Identification of the infringing material: A description of where the allegedly infringing material is located on Lease-A-Dock (include the specific URL of the listing or page).
- Your contact information: Your full legal name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
- Good faith statement: A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use of the copyrighted material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- Accuracy statement: A statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner.
- Signature: A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or authorized representative.
Incomplete notices will not be processed. Please ensure your notice contains all required elements before submitting. Submitting a false DMCA notice may expose you to legal liability under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f).
Our Response to Valid Notices
Upon receiving a complete and valid DMCA takedown notice, Lease-A-Dock will:
- Remove or disable access to the allegedly infringing material promptly
- Notify the user who uploaded the material that it has been removed
- Provide the uploader with information about the DMCA counter-notice process
We may also terminate the accounts of repeat infringers in appropriate circumstances.
DMCA Counter-Notice Procedure
If you believe your content was removed as a result of a mistake or misidentification, you may file a counter-notice under 17 U.S.C. § 512(g). A valid counter-notice must include:
- Your physical or electronic signature
- Identification of the material removed and its location before removal
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief the material was removed due to mistake or misidentification
- Your name, address, telephone number, and email address
- A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the Federal District Court for your judicial district (or, if outside the U.S., any judicial district in which Lease-A-Dock may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who submitted the original takedown notice
Send counter-notices to dmca@lease-a-dock.com with the subject line "DMCA Counter-Notice."
If we receive a valid counter-notice, we will forward it to the original complainant. If the complainant does not notify us within 10 business days that they have filed a court action seeking an injunction, we may restore the removed material at our discretion.
Repeat Infringer Policy
Lease-A-Dock maintains a repeat infringer policy. Users who are found to have repeatedly infringed third-party copyrights will have their accounts terminated. We maintain records of all DMCA notices received and acted upon.
User Responsibilities
By uploading photos or other content to Lease-A-Dock, you represent and warrant that:
- You own the copyright to the content, or have obtained all necessary rights and permissions to upload it
- Your content does not infringe any third-party intellectual property rights
- You grant Lease-A-Dock a non-exclusive license to display the content on the platform for the purpose of facilitating dock rentals
